Medicare Part A & B are provided by the Federal Government. Medicare Part A is generally premium free. As of 2019, the monthly cost for Medicare part B is $135.50. Medicare Part A provides hospital coverage such as room and board. Medicare Part B provides coverage for outpatient services such as doctor’s office visits and surgeries.
Medicare Health & Drug Plans
Medicare Part C is Medicare Advantage. Medicare Advantage plans must provide all of the same benefits as Original Medicare and often times they include additional benefits such as dental, vision, and hearing.
Medicare Part D provides coverage for your prescription drug needs at the pharmacy.
Medicare Supplement Plans
Medigap is commonly referred to as a Medicare Supplement plan. They work with Original Medicare to cover all, or some of you co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles. Medigap is usually the most comprehensive coverage you can get, leaving you with little to no out of pocket costs for Medicare covered expenses each year.
